Enrichment Programs

Our Enrichment Programs go beyond staying busy: we are passionate about helping our seniors continue to find meaning and purpose every day of their lives. Our team takes the time to get to know our residents through asking questions and building relationships. Our wellness coordinator actively creates opportunities for each resident to be engaged in life enriching programs based on their interests and abilities.

Hancock Village’s social calendars feature a variety of engaging programs and activities, both within their home as well as in the community– from book discussions, gardening clubs, exercise classes and games to group outings, volunteer opportunities and art workshops.
The day might start off with an exercise class at 10 am, followed by a brain-stimulating game or a round of Dominos at 10:30. Then at 11 am, residents would head off-site to a local spot for lunch. And this is all before noon!

Communities also organize plenty of special events throughout the year. These may include cookouts in the summer, Mother and Fathers’ Day luncheons, annual holiday parties, Sunday dinners and a trip to the YMCA to go swimming. We also encourage family and friends to participate in any of these activities.

Health & Wellness

Helping seniors maximize their physical and intellectual abilities is one of the foundations of life at Hancock Village. Our team members provide a fun, holistic, and stimulating exercise experience. The classes incorporate a variety of activities, from walks in the neighborhood to relaxation groups, games, and exercises designed to stimulate the brain.

Residents benefit from the expertise of our team members, nurses, therapists, and gerontological nutritionists to learn about health and wellness topics of interest.

Innovative Technology

Hancock Village is committed to providing innovative technology for our seniors to help them remain as physically and mentally strong as possible.

Spirituality

At Hancock Village we know and appreciate the importance of spirituality. Through our relationship with your loved one, we are able to understand and honor their spiritual needs and help them connect with others who share their beliefs. We host several Bible study groups and other non-denominational services throughout the week.  As with every Enrichment Program, these opportunities are optional for residents. We are happy to arrange transportation for your loved one to their local church service on Sunday if that is something that is important to them.

Volunteer Opportunities

Opportunities to give back through volunteering don’t end with retirement! Volunteering gives meaning and purpose to seniors just as it did when they were younger. Seniors bring a wealth of knowledge to their volunteer experiences, impacting their communities in many significant ways.

Our seniors are active with the Food for Thoughts program for youth in the local school districts, Grandma’s Cookies, multi-generational programs with the W.O.W. Park in Carthage, and a host of opportunities through our Resident Council. The Owen’s General Store keeps our seniors busy with planning, organizing, and managing our Hancock Village general store.
